Christmas Tag | Blogmas Day 1

Hello There!

So it is finally December the first and I can now officially be excited for Christmas. I really want to get into the spirit of it all this year and have decided to set myself the challenge of completing Blogmas! Therefore I will be posting every day in the run up to Christmas. So without further ado...

So to start the ball rolling I decided I would do the Christmas tag. And as I have seen so many different versions of this tag, so I have decided to pick just 10 my favourite questions to answer,-some that I have made up myself. 

1) What is your favourite winter/Christmas scent?

I absolutely love the smell of gingerbread and mulled wine around Christmas time.

2)What is your favourite winter drink?

Once again I am going to be boring and say that my favourite winter drink is a hot chocolate with a large amount of squirty cream with marshmallows on the top,  mmm...

3)What is your favourite item of clothing to wear in the winter/ near Christmas?

I love really garish, oversized novelty Christmas jumpers and woolly bobble hats :) 

4)Favourite Christmas song?

The song that stands out the most is  Fairytale of New York by The Pogues.

5) Favourite Christmas movie?

Ever since I was little, for as long as I can remember I have watched the movie 'The Polar Express' around Christmas time and it has almost become a little tradition where I will settle down with a mug of hot chocolate, wrapped in a big fluffy dressing gown and watch this film (more times than I care to mention). And obviously it wouldn't be Christmas without watching Home Alone for the millionth time.

6) Are you on the naughty or nice list this year?

I would like to think that I would be on the nice list this year.. however, I suppose I will have to wait until Christmas morning to see whether or not I have done anything naughty list worthy.

7) Where do you usually spend Christmas?

I have always spent Christmas at my nan and granddads with my family and can't imagine spending it anywhere else. 

8) Where do you wish you could spend Christmas?

As I said in the last question, I can't imagine spending Christmas anywhere else. However, if I were to spend Christmas somewhere else I would like to spend a Christmas abroad somewhere with my family, maybe in America or Canada.

9)What is your favourite part of a Christmas dinner?

My favourite thing about Christmas dinner has to be the Yorkshire puddings!

10) What is your favourite thing about Christmas?

Prepare for yet another cliché... my favourite thing about Christmas is that the whole family comes together and just has a really nice time - I also like the presents too ;)

I heart fall tag

1) Favourite fall lip product?
My favourite fall lip product has to be the MUA Intense Kisses lip gloss in the shade 'Stolen Kisses'. I just love deep berry reds and purples in the fall. I will also be doing a post soon on my other favourite fall lip colours so check back to see that.

2) Favourite fall nail varnish?
My favourite fall nail varnish is from NYC's collection in the shade 248 'Manhattan' Again it is becuase it is a very deep purple colour which really gets me in the mood for fall. However I can only wear this shade when i'm not at school as we are only allowed to wear neutral shades which is rather annoying.

3) Favourite Starbucks fall drink?
To be honest I don't really have a favourite fall drinks from Starbucks in particular ( I know you're probably judging me right now) however, I do just like a plain hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows, or a mocha.

4) Favourite fall candle/scent?
I haven't actually got any fall candles at the moment, however I have been looking in the shops and my favourite scent by far has to be candy apples even though I don't like eating candy apples the candles smell amazing. Also toasted marshmallow scented candles smell really nice.

5) Favourite fall accessory? 
My favourite fall accessory has to be either a big fluffy scarf or an extremely oversized woolly jumper or cardigan. I just love being able to wrap up warm with a cup of tea or hot chocolate in autumn.

6) Haunted house, haunted hay ride or haunted maze?
Usually i'd say none of them as I hate anything scary, however the haunted maze sounds like it could be fun.

7) Favourite Halloween movie?
As I said previously im a big wimp when it comes to horror, therefore you won't usually catch me watching anything rated higher than a PG around Halloween. Some of my favourite films to watch on Halloween are Casper, Coraline, Sleepy Hollow and Warm Bodies. I know, I know i'm a big kid but I don't care.

8) Favourite candy to eat on Halloween?
Everything! I will pretty much eat any sweets or chocolate at any time of the year so nothing changes around Halloween. However, the one thing I don't like is candy/toffee apples. As much as I want to like them i'm just not too keen on apples haha.

9) What are you dressing up as for Halloween?
'I'm not dressing up this year and I haven;t done for the past 5/6 years as I usually just tend to paint my nails with a spooky design or just paint my face as I love experimenting with face paints and special effects make-up. However, if I was to dress up this year I would either go as a zombie (original I know) or as a movie character of some sort.

10) What is your favourite thing about fall?
Prepare for the ultimate cliché... My favourite thing about fall is the leaves changing colour, purely becuase I hate the colour green, being able to wear my big fluffy cardigan and jumpers and just wrapping up warm in my onsie with a hot chocolate and a film.

The Beauty Blogger Tag

I have been tagged by my sister Laura over at Laura's all made up to do the beauty blogger tag so here goes...

Why did you start blogging and how long have you been blogging for?

I started blogging a few months back on my previous blog, life's little things, but then i decided to start a new blog. I began this blog last month. The reason i started created a blog in the first place was because my sister Laura created her own blog a few years back and it just seemed like so much fun.

Whose blog did you fall in love with first?

The first blog i read was my sisters of course. I hadn't really heard of any other bloggers at that point but then i began watching YouTube and discovered Zoe's and Louise's blogs which i love!

What was the first blogosphere hyped about product that you bought? Was it worth the hype?

I haven't really bought any extremely hyped about products but i did venture into Lush for the first time ever before Christmas after reading and watching s many reviews on their products. And yes it was totally worth it even if i did get a headache after being in the shop too long!

What are your five favourite things about blogging and being a Beauty Blogger?

As i am fairly new to blogging i don't really have that much to say however these are a few things i've loved so far...

1) People are so friendly and lovely and it's so nice to be involved in such a great community,

2) i really love reading through other peoples beauty and fashion blogs to get inspiration or beauty tips,

3)you get to share your honest opinion on products you have bought and help people to decide whether they would like to buy the product,

4) I really love the design and photography aspect of blogging and can't wait to learn new ways to improve my photography and design skills.

What have you learnt from being a Beauty Blogger?

From being a beauty blogger (of sorts) i have been introduced to different styles, techniques and routines regarding make-up and beauty products and have learnt a lot about how important it is to find products that suit you and not just products that everyone is raving about.

Have you changed anything since becoming a Beauty Blogger?

Since starting a blog and reading blogs i have changed the sorts of make-up/ products i used and have changed the way i apply them. I have now also got a sort of skin/beauty regime which i would never even have thought remotely important before.

What advice would you give to a Beauty Blogger just starting out?

As i am a new blogger myself i would say be yourself and write about things you enjoy,

leave comments on or follow peoples blogs,

get a bloglovin' account, this is a great way to get noticed,

and finally make sure you get your blog design how you want it, make sure that it's a clear layout, easy to read and eye-catching!

Furry Friend Tag | My Cat Bob

I was reading a few blog posts earlier and i came across 'The furry friend tag' on Nuala's blog and obviously, because it was to do with animals, i absolutely loved reading it and decided to do it myself.

So here it is, i hope you enjoy it...

1. What is your pets name? 

 My cat's name is Bob (original i know).

2. When did you get Bob?

We have had Bob for about 3/4 years. The reason i'm not quite sure is because we didn't buy Bob, we took him in when he was a kitten. Bob was a stray cat that had probably been abandoned by his mother, so after a lot of convincing our own mother she decided that we could keep him. So we took him to the vets to see weather he was a boy or a girl (because we weren't to sure as he was only a kitten) and it turned out he was a boy. 

3. What is something that Bob does that annoys you?

The only thing that annoys me about Bob is that he will take up the entire bed! He will jump up on the bed and lie right in the middle and stretch himself out more than i thought possible for a cat, leaving me to sleep around him squished up the side. 

4. What type of breed is Bob?

Short hair tabby cat- i think, but we have never known for sure.

5. Has Bob ever had a near death experience?

Luckily, Bob has never had a near death experience *touches wood*

6. Does Bob know any tricks?

Bob doesn't know any tricks as he isn't a dog.

7. Does Bob like to snuggle?

I wouldn't say he likes to snuggle, he just likes to know that you are there because he doesn't like to be on his own, he will also come and sit on mine or my sister's lap occasionally and fall asleep for an hour or so.

8. Where did you get Bob?

Like i said previously, we took him in off the streets because he didn't have a home.

9. Does Bob get along with other cats?

Bob is a bit of a funny cat, he doesn't really mind other cats but he doesn't exactly like them either.

10. Does Bob get along with strangers? 

Bob acts a bit weird around new people as he doesn't really know weather to trust them. When we first took him in he was very timid and scared of people and would hide for most of the time until he learnt to trust us.

11. How much does Bob weigh?

I honestly have no idea how much he weighs but i do struggle to pick him up now as he is getting a little chubby.

12. Do you ever dress Bob up?

I have never properly dressed him up as i think it's pretty strange when people dress up their pets, however i have put the occasional festive hat on him which he despised the idea and shook it straight off!

13. Has Bob ever tried to run away?

Bob has never tried to run away as such, however when we first had him we couldn't let him out of the house in case he went wondering off. Now he just sits in the garden for the majority of the time.

11. How did you come up with Bob's name?

At first we didn't know whether Bob was a boy or a girl so until we knew we just called him Bob, just for the sake of having a name. Obviously if he was a girl we wouldn't have kept the name, however he was a boy and the name just sort of stuck.

12. How much does Bob mean to you on a scale of 1-10?

10/10
