Hello again!

(source)
Hello Everyone!

So... as you can tell I haven't blogged in quite a while. I have some excuses as to why but I won't bore you with them. However, taking a little break from blogging (especially after doing blogmas) has given me time to think about the type of things I want to share on my blog. So from now on my blog will be a lot more lifestyle based as opposed to beauty.

Also my sister, Laura from Laura's All Made Up, has very kindly spent a lot of time designing my blog for me. I am really happy with how it looks and really appreciate how much time and effort she has put into it!

So already this year is going really fast and I can't believe its already March! This year is a big one for me as it is my last year of secondary school! However, before I leave still have to revise like crazy for the next few months and then sit my exams! And somewhere inbetween all of this I have my school prom which should be fun... I am also completing my Silver Duke of Edinburgh award this year so ill keep you posted on that. As much as I am looking forward to starting college, I am more excited for the few months break I get inbetween where I plan on doing nothing but watching tv, eating lots of food, catching up on sleep and blogging for the whole holiday.

I have already got a few posts in mind and I am hoping to post at least once a week from now on.
Be sure to let me know if you follow me on gfc or bloglovin' and leave a link to your blog in the comments and ill be sure follow you back! xx

What I got for Christmas | 2014

Hello everyone!
I hope you all had an amazing Christmas and New Year!

So I have seen a lot of people doing this post and thought I would join in. I absolutely love all of the presents I got for Christmas and want to thank everyone who bought me one.
I did also get a few other bits and pieces from my parents such as a onsie and and big fluffy cardigan, but i was wearing them when i was taking the photos. I also got a lot of sweets and food but i had already eaten those ;D  I really liked the dress from primark, and i chose to wear it Christmas day, i don't wear too many dresses but i really liked the pattern on this one. I also really enjoyed all of the films as well.
I absolutely loved all of the bath stuff from Lush, it all smells so nice. Also I finished Girl Online 2 days ago, and it is a really good book. I might may do a review on the things from Lush and Girl Online in the next few weeks. For the past few days i have been burning the Yankee tarts and the candles non-stop - they also smell really nice!
It's safe to say that I really enjoyed Breaking Bad ( I finished the whole series in around 3 days) I just couldn't stop watching it. I might also do a review on this if anyone is interested and is thinking about maybe watching it. I have been really getting into all of the TV series lately like Breaking Bad, American Horror Story and so on. I have just started watching The Walking Dead too.

What did you get this Christmas? If you have also done this post then fell free to leave the link down below as I would love to check it out!

A Day In The Life | Blogmas Day 23

Hello Everyone!
So Christmas is well and truly upon us and today I thought I would share with you what I have got up to on the day before Christmas Eve.
Me, my sister, my brother and my mom decided to brave the last minute Christmas shopping and took a trip to our local shopping centre. It wasn't too busy which was nice, and we got there just as the centre opened. I didn't really buy too much today other than what you can see in the photo above. I picked up the polar bear phone case from Primark, reduced to a pound which I thought was soo cute, and an absolute bargain! I then bought two Yankee candle tarts in 'Cranberry Ice' and 'Snow in love' for around 90p from the Yankee store. I picked the two Yankee candle samplers up from Asda for £1 each. Whilst in B&M my mom spotted these little jumpers which go on wine bottles as a little novelty item, and joked that we should buy them for the kittens, so of course we decided to pick some up. Which brings me on to my next few pictures...
So this is Thor, (not sure whether to stick with this name or not) he is the youngest of the four kittens but he is also the biggest. As soon as we got back home, the first thing I did was to put the jumper on him, and although he really did not approve of his new festive jumper ( as you can probably tell from the photos) I thought he looked very cute. Also we all couldn't help but laugh at the way he walks around when he has this jumper on as the sleeves are a little too big, so he stumbled around a lot.

After deciding to take the jumper off the kitten I decided to make myself a festive little snack , I made myself a hot chocolate in my Christmas mug ( 99p from Home Bargains) and used a candy cane to stir it which made the hot chocolate minty.  I then made one of these really cute chocolate, candy cane, heart lollipops which I saw Zoe and Alfie make in her DIY Christmas Treats video, and it turned out pretty well.

I think it is safe to say I am well and truly shopped out and plan to spend tomorrow watching lots of films, and probably doing a bit of tidying as my room is a little bit of a mess at the moment.

What have you got up to today?

How I Spend Christmas | Blogmas Day 22

As Christmas is only 2 days away I am feeling very festive! Today has been a really lovely day, first of all, meeting with my friends and second, going round my sisters house for tea and watching Christmas films. Today I thought I would tell you about how I spend my Christmas day ...

So me and my little brother are usually first to wake up at around 7 or 8 in the morning and we wait for the rest of our family to wake up, we then all go downstairs as a family and open our presents. I also recently heard that some people open their presents after they have had their Christmas meal? After we have all finished opening our presents, we always end up putting on a DVD that someone has received as a gift, it is usually one of my dads DVD's as they are always comedy live shows. While the DVD is on we all start slowly tidying up the mess of wrapping paper. I then like to get all of my things out of any other packaging as it saves me doing it later on. We all then begin to get ready to set out to go to my Nan and Grandads for a meal with the rest of our family, however i use the time where everyone else is getting ready, to stuff my face full of chocolates. We then set off for my grandparents house at around 2ish and have our Christmas dinner there. We then spend the night talking and watching the generic Christmas TV and then we head off back home later on in the night. Although this may sound very cliché I love Christmas becuase it is the only time we really spend with our family where we can all just relax and have a nice time - although I do enjoy the presents aswell :)

How do you usually spend your Christmas?

4 Sleeps 'Till Christmas | Blogmas Day 21

Today is just going to be a little chatty post. So I can't believe it is only 4 sleeps until Christmas. This month has gone way too fast and it is only just starting to feel like Christmas. Last week was the last week of school and it was a really nice last few days. We had a Christmas jumper day where the school turned the heating down and we all donated money to raise for the salvation army, we had a school talent/variety show which was really nice as both teachers and pupils joined in and we had a really nice whole school assembly. I have been listening to Christmas songs none stop for the past few weeks and constantly find myself singing along whenever one comes on the radio. Yesterday I spent a while wrapping my secret santa present as tomorrow, me and a few of my closest friends from school are meeting up to exchange gifts which should be really fun.
Today has been a very lazy day for me as I have sat at home wrapped up in my fluffy pyjamas, with my Christmas scented candles lit, catching up on vlogmas. I have also painted my nails in a christmassy design which I will hopefully share with you tomorrow. I am also hoping to go to my sisters house tomorrow night along with my little brother to watch some christmassy films to really get in the festive spirit so I am really looking forward to that. I have also been planning some posts for the new year which has been fun but also has made me think about how fast this whole year has gone.

What are you looking forward to most about Christmas?

Santa Paws | Blogmas 20

Today I just thought I would share with you some of the pictures of the kittens and the cats. The kittens are around 10 weeks old now so are starting to run around the house a lot more. They have now discovered they can climb up our Christmas tree, so we now know where to look if we can't find them. The mom cat was taken to the vets to be done the other day and now has to wear a little cone to stop her from biting her stitches which she is not too pleased about. Out oldest cat Bob still isn't too impressed that 3 other cats have now taken over his home but he is being to like them a little more. We recently bought the kittens collars with bells on them so they are constantly running around making lots of noise.

I still can't believe it is only 5 sleeps until Christmas, December has gone soo fast!

An Early Christmas Present | Blogmas Day 8

Hello Everyone!
So around eight weeks ago the stray kitten we 'took in' had four adorable little kittens which was a big shock as we all thought she was a male cat, as we hadn't taken her to the vets. Originally we were not going to keep any of the kittens or even the mom cat, we were going to give them away as we already have a cat named Bob who doesn't really get on very well with any other cats and also becuase 2 cats and 4 kittens would be quite a handful. However, we have sort of managed to convince our parents to let us keep two of the little beauties ( as an early Christmas present), as the other two have been adopted by my sister Laura - from Laura's All Made Up. So I am very glad that we didn't have to re-home them or split them up too much. The kitten in the last picture is the one I have chosen. He is the youngest one out of the four and we think he is a boy. My little brother has chosen the in the first picture which is lying over the black kitten, we have nicknamed her dotty because of the patch on her back until we think of another name for her. She was one of the oldest , either the first or second born. Which leaves the last two (the black one and the grey one with the little beard) who have now moved house and gone to live with Laura.

I am so happy that we have been allowed to keep them as it is nice to have watched them grow up since birth, from when they first started stumbling around to when they opened their eyes. They are now eight weeks old - nine weeks on Thursday and are getting to be so big!

Also I have not yet thought of a name for my kitten so any suggestions would be welcome :) The names I have came up with so far is Thor ( which my family don't like) and Gizmo. Let me know what you think of these names in the comments, I would also love any name suggestions. See you tomorrow for blogmas day 9 :)

Christmas Cupcakes | Blogmas day 2

Hello Everyone!
So today I thought that I would do something simple yet super Christmassy - Christmas baking/cake decorating!

On Saturday, my little brother and I decided that we wanted to make some cupcakes and I just thought I would share them with you. If you don't know already the ingredients you will need to make 12 cupcakes are:

110g of butter
110g of caster sugar
110g of self raising flour
2 medium sized eggs

We chose to make butter cream to decorate our cakes and then used various Christmas decorations to make them look really cute. We used green food colouring for the butter cream and also topped some with melted chocolate to make them look like a Christmas pudding. I was actually quite impressed and proud of the outcome of these cakes, which I know isn't much of an achievement but its a big step up from some of my other decorative attempts. I also think that these designs would look really cool on cake pops but I didn't have the moulds to make them so I had to settle for normal cupcakes.

Be sure to check back tomorrow for Blogmas Day 3!

Christmas Tag | Blogmas Day 1

Hello There!
So it is finally December the first and I can now officially be excited for Christmas. I really want to get into the spirit of it all this year and have decided to set myself the challenge of completing Blogmas! Therefore I will be posting every day in the run up to Christmas. So without further ado...

So to start the ball rolling I decided I would do the Christmas tag. And as I have seen so many different versions of this tag, so I have decided to pick just 10 my favourite questions to answer,-some that I have made up myself.

1) What is your favourite winter/Christmas scent?
I absolutely love the smell of gingerbread and mulled wine around Christmas time.

2)What is your favourite winter drink?
Once again I am going to be boring and say that my favourite winter drink is a hot chocolate with a large amount of squirty cream with marshmallows on the top,  mmm...

3)What is your favourite item of clothing to wear in the winter/ near Christmas?
I love really garish, oversized novelty Christmas jumpers and woolly bobble hats :)

4)Favourite Christmas song?
The song that stands out the most is  Fairytale of New York by The Pogues.

5) Favourite Christmas movie?
Ever since I was little, for as long as I can remember I have watched the movie 'The Polar Express' around Christmas time and it has almost become a little tradition where I will settle down with a mug of hot chocolate, wrapped in a big fluffy dressing gown and watch this film (more times than I care to mention). And obviously it wouldn't be Christmas without watching Home Alone for the millionth time.

6) Are you on the naughty or nice list this year?
I would like to think that I would be on the nice list this year.. however, I suppose I will have to wait until Christmas morning to see whether or not I have done anything naughty list worthy.

7) Where do you usually spend Christmas?
I have always spent Christmas at my nan and granddads with my family and can't imagine spending it anywhere else.

8) Where do you wish you could spend Christmas?
As I said in the last question, I can't imagine spending Christmas anywhere else. However, if I were to spend Christmas somewhere else I would like to spend a Christmas abroad somewhere with my family, maybe in America or Canada.

9)What is your favourite part of a Christmas dinner?
My favourite thing about Christmas dinner has to be the Yorkshire puddings!

10) What is your favourite thing about Christmas?
Prepare for yet another cliché... my favourite thing about Christmas is that the whole family comes together and just has a really nice time - I also like the presents too ;)

I tag my sister Laura from Laura's All Made Up
       Sasha from Little-Sash

and anyone else who would like to do this tag :)

Questions:
1) What is your favourite winter/Christmas scent?
2)What is your favourite winter drink?
3)What is your favourite item of clothing to wear in the winter/ near Christmas?
4)Favourite Christmas song?
5) Favourite Christmas movie?
6) Are you on the naughty or nice list this year?
7) Where do you usually spend Christmas?

October Favourites

Hello Everyone!
These are just a few of the things i've been loving this month!

W7 In The Buff Eye Colour Palette ~
My sister bought me this palette for my birthday in September and since then I haven't stopped using it, All of the colours in the palette are natural beige and browns with a little bit of shimmer. If you would like to see some swatches then my sister has done a full review over on her blog Laura's All Made Up

MUA Intense Kisses 'Stolen Kisses' ~
I have been loving this colour recently as I love the deep berry colours in the autumn. I don't usually go for lip glosses but this one isn't sticky and has a really bold colour and lasts throughout the day.

Rimmel Stay Matte Face Powder ~
I have been using this for months now, it is honestly the best powder i have ever bought and its cheap too, there's not a day that I don't find myself reaching for this as it sets my make-up really well.

Lady Gaga Perfume ~
This was also bought for me for my birthday. I have been wearing this none stop for the past month as you can probably see, i've used pretty much all of it.

NYC Nail Varnish 'Manhattan' ~
This is another fall favourite as it is a deep berry purple colour, I can't wear it at school though which is slightly annoying as we are only allowed to wear natural coloured nail varnish.

American Horror Story Season 1, 2 & 3~
This is a slightly random one but a few weeks ago one of my friends introduced me to American Horror Story, which at first I was a little sceptical about watching as it included the word 'horror' and as you should all probably know by now that I am a massive wimp and hate anything scary. However, I decided to give it ago and watch the first episode on Netflix and to my surprise I really enjoyed it. I then couldn't stop watching it and within a week I had watched all 3 seasons which consisted of 38 episodes altogether. It is rated 18 but it isn't really too scary, however I wouldn't recommend anyone under 15 to watch it.

What were your favourite things in October?
Let me know in the comments.

I heart fall tag

1) Favourite fall lip product?
My favourite fall lip product has to be the MUA Intense Kisses lip gloss in the shade 'Stolen Kisses'. I just love deep berry reds and purples in the fall. I will also be doing a post soon on my other favourite fall lip colours so check back to see that.

2) Favourite fall nail varnish?
My favourite fall nail varnish is from NYC's collection in the shade 248 'Manhattan' Again it is becuase it is a very deep purple colour which really gets me in the mood for fall. However I can only wear this shade when i'm not at school as we are only allowed to wear neutral shades which is rather annoying.

3) Favourite Starbucks fall drink?
To be honest I don't really have a favourite fall drinks from Starbucks in particular ( I know you're probably judging me right now) however, I do just like a plain hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows, or a mocha.

4) Favourite fall candle/scent?
I haven't actually got any fall candles at the moment, however I have been looking in the shops and my favourite scent by far has to be candy apples even though I don't like eating candy apples the candles smell amazing. Also toasted marshmallow scented candles smell really nice.

5) Favourite fall accessory?
My favourite fall accessory has to be either a big fluffy scarf or an extremely oversized woolly jumper or cardigan. I just love being able to wrap up warm with a cup of tea or hot chocolate in autumn.

6) Haunted house, haunted hay ride or haunted maze?
Usually i'd say none of them as I hate anything scary, however the haunted maze sounds like it could be fun.

7) Favourite Halloween movie?
As I said previously im a big wimp when it comes to horror, therefore you won't usually catch me watching anything rated higher than a PG around Halloween. Some of my favourite films to watch on Halloween are Casper, Coraline, Sleepy Hollow and Warm Bodies. I know, I know i'm a big kid but I don't care.

8) Favourite candy to eat on Halloween?
Everything! I will pretty much eat any sweets or chocolate at any time of the year so nothing changes around Halloween. However, the one thing I don't like is candy/toffee apples. As much as I want to like them i'm just not too keen on apples haha.

9) What are you dressing up as for Halloween?
'I'm not dressing up this year and I haven;t done for the past 5/6 years as I usually just tend to paint my nails with a spooky design or just paint my face as I love experimenting with face paints and special effects make-up. However, if I was to dress up this year I would either go as a zombie (original I know) or as a movie character of some sort.

10) What is your favourite thing about fall?
Prepare for the ultimate cliché... My favourite thing about fall is the leaves changing colour, purely becuase I hate the colour green, being able to wear my big fluffy cardigan and jumpers and just wrapping up warm in my onsie with a hot chocolate and a film.

So that is why I love fall, I now tag:
Sasha from Little-Sash
and anyone else who would like to do the tag...
